Course

It seems like every year I'm making some kind of change to the race course...  but this year's course will be the same as last year. The most notable change to last year's course is that the runners now go up the infamous "Powerline Trail" a trail that the 50k runners have used every year(except for the year we had to use the Snow Route). Don't worry the course is still very scenic and will of course still go up and over Mt Constitution(unless the road to the top is too icy and unsafe to drive the aid station supplies up there and we have to use the Snow Route again--stay tuned for updates). Another cool change is that there are now two aid stations: at mile 5.6 at North Arch (right before the Powerline Climb) and at mile 10.7 at the Summit of Mt Constitution(unless there is nasty weather on the summit in which case the 2nd aid station will be at mile 12.1 at Cold Spring).  The changes add almost 1000 more feet of elevation gain for a total of 4450ft. The will be three spots on the course where we will be enforcing cutoff times: North Arch at 11am, Mt Constitution Summit at 1:30pm and at the Finish at 3pm--if a runner does not make it to these locations before these cutoff times they may be removed from the race for their safety and for the safety of our volunteers and to keep the race on schedule for our permit and plans.

Below are the course maps, course description and elevation profile. Please study these and print them out and bring them with you-- the course will be well marked but ultimately it is the runner's responsibility to know the course.
